Scalloped Capiz Shell Coaster Set of 6

Set of six scalloped coasters handmade with layered capiz shells. The cork base and resin top reinforces the coasters.

Capiz shells, also known as Windowpane Oysters, are native to the Philippines. They are edible, but valued more for their pearlescent shells and small pearls. They acquired the name from its long history dating as far back to 1860s being described in a dictionary.
