Mixed African Powder Glass Beads

Mixed bunch of metal + glass, and powder glass-only beads from South Africa.

Powder glass beads are necklace ornamentations, handmade in South Africa. The earliest discovered beads date as far back to 970 - 1000 CE.
These particular beads are antiques, however these glasses are still in production by many artists in West Africa, particularly Ghana. If you are interested in purchasing newer ones, please consider purchasing directly from the artists themselves and not reproductions.
